Carol Brydon is a Gamilaraay (Kamilaroi) women from Gunnedah in North West NSW. She has spent 40+ years working in craft mediums such as knitting, crochet and bead work.
In 2018, Carol attended a workshop where she learnt the traditional art of basket weaving. Since that time, she has been perfecting her art and sharing these skills with family, friends and other members of the Gunnedah Aboriginal community. In 2020, she conducted several workshops and weaving circles for schools, elders groups and for the general public during NAIDOC week celebrations.
Carol has produced a small range of baskets for us at Red Kangaroo Gallery in various sizes, shapes and colours using both natural raffia and paper raffia.
