Mary Rumble Pitjara (b.1957) is part of an impressive artistic family in the Utopia region of the Central Desert. She is the older sister of celebrated artist Katie Rumble Pitjara and her extended family includes her esteemed aunts, Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre and Gracie Morton Pwerle.

Her auntie's Gloria Petyarre and Gracie Morton Pwerle taught her to paint on canvas as they did, so she learned her craft from the very best. Unlike many of her contemporaries, who possess only one or two trademark genres, Mary paints in several unique and distinctive styles ranging from the most intricately delicate to powerful renditions.

Mary paints many stories ranging from Bush Medicine Leaves, Bush Tucker, Kangaroo dreaming, Bush Flowers, Bush Yam Seed , My Country and  Awelye (or body paint designs).

Mary is a popular artist from Utopia with a strong following.
