Born in 1968, Susan was taught to paint by her parents who were both internationally recognised artists in their own right. Her father is Yala Yala Gibbs and her mother is Ningura Naparrula.
Susan is a Pintupi woman who paints stories that have been passed down to her by her parents. They are sacred stories from the Tingari Dreamtime which tell of women as healers and providers within the community.
