One Stockman Riding Horse | 29h x 29w (Paper size: 43h x 40w) | RK575
Unframed | Linocut print on 300gsm Somerset art paper
Jill Daniels lives with her family in Ngukurr, she has been painting since 2003. Her sister is well-known artist Amy Johnson. Ngukurr, formerly Roper River Mission, is a remote Aboriginal community on the banks of the Roper River in southern Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. There are a number of different clans and language groups represented in the town, with Kriol being the main language spoken. The writing in this print is Kriol for ‘stockman riding on horse’.
As well as her amazing linocuts and screen prints, Jill enjoys painting with acrylic paints. Her subjects are predominately landscapes and ocean themes. Her ability to bring out the vibrant colours of ocean creatures and habitat has captured the imagination of fabrics manufacturers, as her paintings translate well to fabric. This has lead to several partnerships in this area.
(Please note: this linocut has a white border, the artwork is signed by artist on front within this border.)
